SEND COURSES

Foundations SEND, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, is a new addition to our Focus courses! Working together with Sian Thorley and Infinity Shooting stars, this diploma has been created to assist coaches, teachers, parents, and carers.

This Focus course is available to junior coaches aged 12yrs-15yrs, to coaches, teachers, class assistants and anyone working within a SEND setting. It also gives an insight to parents and carers of what to expect during sessions, especially if they are attending with their child.

This is a great introduction for those ready to start their own SEND team, already have a team and want to share their experience or for people working 1:1 with athletes and dancers. We cover what a SEND team is and why you should start a team. What learning difficulties are, how to structure and adapt sessions. Creating relationships with athletes, parents, and carers. And an introduction into BSL/Makaton.

A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the course to support individuals Continuing Professional Development.

This is not a qualification and if used by a lead coach, it must be accompanied by a relevant activity/sporting qualification.
